Cherry Hill, NJ — The red Acura came fast. Too fast. It passed on the left, slammed the brakes, blocked the road, and rolled to a stop. The driver smirked. Then he yelled at the man and his child inside the Tesla:

“F — you.”

Police quickly identified the driver as a local resident: Ryan Toogood of Cherry Hill, New Jersey. According to official reports, Toogood admitted to being behind the wheel. No charges have been filed, and he has not been arrested.

All individuals mentioned in this article are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. The events described are based on police records, public documents, and first-hand accounts.

What seemed at first like an isolated case of suburban road rage is now something more unsettling: multiple Tesla owners in the same neighborhood reporting eerily similar encounters. Same car. Same driver. Same alleged behavior.

“You know why, right?”

That was the question the driver reportedly asked Tesla owner Miriam Cherry, moments after forcing her son to reverse into a stranger’s driveway to avoid a collision. Then, he flipped them off.

Cherry later described the man to police as a white male in his 40s, wearing sunglasses and a blue hat. She said he was driving a red Acura RDX. And she didn’t believe the incident was random.

Cherry wasn’t alone.

That same evening — March 22, 2025 — another Tesla driver, Boris Hazanov, reported a nearly identical encounter just blocks away. According to the police report filed by Officer N. Clark, the red Acura “started to conduct a K-Turn and when doing so just stayed parallel in the roadway stopping traffic.”

“When Boris attempted to move around the vehicle he advised the [Acura] moved up to stop him,” Clark wrote. Then came the verbal assault: “The driver started to smile at Boris and before driving away told him ‘F — you.’”

Hazanov captured the incident on his Tesla’s dashcam. The footage, which he posted to a local Facebook group, shows a red Acura with New Jersey plates behaving erratically. Still frames from the video appear to show the driver grinning as he blocks the road.

Police Confirmation and No Charges Filed

According to police records, the vehicle was registered to his mother, a Cherry Hill resident. Officers visited his mother’s home and spoke with Ryan Toogood, who acknowledged he had been driving the red Acura that day.

“[Toogood] confirmed he was the driver of the vehicle,” Detective D. Moore wrote in a follow-up report. “He was advised the victims may choose to sign complaints.”

When asked for comment, the Cherry Hill Police Department Spokesman John Ostermueller added:

“The incidents were investigated by a member of the investigative unit and the complainants were offered the means to pursue the matter in court, however all declined.”

With no formal complaints signed, the case was effectively closed. It also appears that the Cherry Hill Police Department chose not to issue any traffic citations or warnings in connection with the incidents, despite identifying the driver and confirming his involvement. No arrests were made.

Who Is Ryan Toogood?

Public records show that Ryan A. Toogood is a licensed attorney in the state of Florida. He operates a corporate entity — Ryan A. Toogood, P.A. — and serves as “Of Counsel” at a law firm in Boca Raton. According to the Florida Bar, Toogood is in good standing and has no disciplinary history.

He maintains addresses in both Florida and Cherry Hill, New Jersey, though his driver’s license is believed to be issued in Florida.
